The smells and visions of my life

Dear Marc, what are you watching and how are you smelling?

I saw your somewhat new Violet scent and was struck with that familiar got to have it-feeling.
I don't know how you do it. I see a scentless image on a screen and feel I must smell like that.

I have a small wardrobe of scents. It includes Jil Sander No4 and Laura Mercier Eau de Lune.

But most days I wish I smelled like coffee and dark chocolate. And a little tobacco. Is that how you smell? I wouldn't be surprised.

My man works in London during the week and spends weekends with us in Stockholm. When he's home, we play with the kids, cook and then, while the kids are sleeping, watch Rome or Studio 60.

Last night I had a strange dream. I dreamed that Sorkin had made Rome. The tempo was so fast and the senators and legionnaires were speedtalking and speedwalking, sending slaves back and forth with important notes tattooed into their skulls. Matthew Perry played Cesar in a pranksterous kind of way. When stabbed to death by Brutus and other close friends, Cesar quipped his famous line "Kai su, teknon", then added "I suppose that's Greek to you. "

What should I watch now, when I've seen every episode of Rome and Studio 60? I want more Amanda Peet. But since she's about to have her baby, I'll have to settle for soemthing else. Dirt any good?

love
-e

If you liked Sex in the City, you may like "Entourage". A new HBO series about a group of young actors in Hollywood. Partly based on the life of Mark Wahlberg (producer, underwear model).

Yes, I've seen all of Entourage too!
I wish I hadn't so I could see it for the first time.

The Wire is great--a bit overwritten at first but really compelling. and there is no better character than omar little. and speaking of entourage, i saw adrian grenier in the brooklyn musuem on saturday. if you didn't know better, you'd think he was just another dude with a website. i also recommend The Comeback, with Lisa Kudrow. SOOOOOO hard to watch at times, cringeworthy of the highest degree. v. black and v. funny.

Rome is my favourite. I don't get the right channel to watch it on TV, so I've rented and watched the episodes back to back about 3 times. Can't wait for the new season...

I wish I smelled like coffee, dark chocolate and tobacco too. No perfume compares with those every day smells. MJ's Violet is quite nice though. Even as a "scentless image on screen" :)

I can't get enough of Six Feet Under - every few months I re-watch all episodes. The characters are so well drawn, it's funny and sad and simply perfect. If you don't know it, you should take a look!
Happy hunting,
Jasmin

TV?! e, I am shocked and disillusioned. I thought you were favoloso and that your life was so emozionante. Your profile pic deceives.

Dear J, I will be nothing if not a disappointment to you from now on. I am short, with a beaky nose and a slight underbite. But I have nice boots!

I root for 'Six Feet Under' as well, my all time favourite, I have the three seasons if you want to borrow, 1,2 and 4. Not sure why I skipped the third... I wouldn't mind borrow Rome in exchange! :-)

I LOVE Studio 60 and cannot wait until January 22nd. I've heard Ugly Betty is good (and it just won two Golden Globes). Also Scrubs is really funny and Zach Braff ain't bad too look at either.

Yes, The Wire is our all time favorite HBO series also. Highly recommended!
Fresh makes a coffee/chocolate candle called Demitasse, and there is a shop in London...

You should try Arrested Developement. I don't know if it is similar to what you have been watching, but this show makes me laugh out loud!

Takes a while to get into the characters, but once you do it is fantastic.
