I had been warned

Dear Marc, you look so healthy now, I'm sure you follow a diet of Volvic, algae and organic raspberries. I'm all for organic, hoping new ways of old school farming will help the world and our health. But I was not prepared for the level of organic thinking they have here in the UK. Mind you, i had been warned. In one sentence, my new friend Natasha summed it up:

As soon as you get to London you're going to discover that the English middle classes are obsessed with organic food and willing to pay prices equivalent to a really good seat at the theatre for fair-traded organically produced green beans flown in from Kenya and if you asked me REALLY dubiously organic.

I had been warned. I should not have been surprised. Chewing on an organic spelt croissant (my apologies to French pastry-orthodox reades), Vanja correctly concluded that the treat was good but more bread than croissant.

After a supper of organic salad, organic salami and organic blueberries (flown in environmentally unsound, from Chile! The horror!) I went to bed.

I had a dream, like women my age often do, that I had another lovely baby.
The child was gorgeous and to top off my self-congratulatory middle classedness, she had a big brown liver spot on her back. At closer inspection, the spot read "100% organic". I bet not even Apple has that!

what did you dream last night?
love

spelt croissants? what's the point?

and you know Apple runs out with the nanny while GP is at pilates to eat at Burger King. at least, that's my hope for her and her smug mother.

There was no point!
Stay away from spelt croissant.
It's like saying grape juice and wine is the same thing. It's absolutely not.

marc must have not have eaten organic food when he was putting together his undoubtedly amazing louis vuitton collection in paris for poor marc is now in arizona rehabbing. hopefully he's refortifying himself with 100% organic foods 100% of the time now. we all know organic cheese, organic blueberries and spelt croissants are the antidote to high grade cocaine and expensive vodka.

I only eat organic salad from Sainsburys that comes in those chlorine washed plastic bags that you can't recycle personally. It's true if they put an organic label on petrol and mobile phones people would pay double! It's cos our food isn't very appetising, at least we can feel smug and righteous!

I feel sorry for the poor lump of bread. It must feel so conflicted, torn between two worlds , never to belong in either.

Last night I partied with the Osbourn boy in a converted monastery. He had gold eyes that I identified as the Dior contacts. I complemented him on them - but tactfully avoided mentioning the extra couple sets of eyes he had added to his face. At one point we went sailing at night and there were an awful lot of dogs around.

good fun, no babies - phew

Hey, I think you should send that dream to an advertising agency. It's a good idea!
Hmmm...is it possibly to make a light, fluffy croissant out of spelt? I hope it was covered in chocolate or strawberry jam!

I am depressed to hear that the spelt croissant wasn't up to scratch - as someone who is allergic to wheat (amongst 10 gazillion other yummy things), I was kind of hoping that they might fill the croissant shaped hole in my life... hey ho, such is life for us atopic types.
